University of Kansas Medical Center Opens Ombuds Office

KUMC has created the Office of the Student Ombudsman to assist students in its Schools of Medicine, Nursing, and Health Professions on campuses in Kansas City, Salina, and Wichita. Vince Loffredo is the Ombudsman and Chris Meiers is the Assistant Student Ombudsman. Loffredo reports that the office received three students request in the first week.

Loffredo previously was the Student Ombudsman at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Meiers has worked at KUMC for over ten years, most recently as Registrar. He graduated and earned a MS from Fort Hays State University, and a PhD, Psychology and Research in Education, at the University of Kansas. (KUMC Ombuds; KU Center Express; LinkedIn.)
