Pan American Health Organization Announces New Ombuds

The UN-affiliated international public health agency has named Dolores Gómez-Morán to serve as its next Ombudsman for an initial two-year appointment. She will work with PAHO employees in countries throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. 


Gómez-Morán succeeds Wallace Meissner who served as the PAHO Ombuds for over seven years. Gómez-Morán previously was the Ombudsman at George Mason University from 1999 through 2013. She graduated from Universidad de Oviedo in Spain and earned a MA in Counseling Psychology from Boston College. She has been active with IOA and ENOHE. (LinkedIn.)
