President of International Ombudsman Institute Steps Down

At the IOI annual meeting in October, Dame Beverley Wakem announced that she was resigning from her office as IOI President and that Adv. John R. Walters, Ombudsman of Namibia, would assume the post.  Wakem lead IOI for four years and oversaw significant changes to the organization's governance, new educational partnerships, and outreach efforts.  The IOI Board of Directors awarded an Honorary Life Membership to Wakem.  (IOI News.)
