Dalhousie University Appoints Ombuds to Reopen Office

The public university in Halifax has named Diane Hawco as its next Ombudsperson.  The position is jointly funded by the University and Dalhousie Student Union and will also serve students at the affiliated University of Kings College.  

Hawco has a background in social work, law and mediation training and education. Most recently, she has been a conciliator in the Victim Services Division of the Nova Scotia Department of Justice. She has also recently been granted a three-year appointment as a justice of the peace for the province of Nova Scotia. She graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland Memorial and earned an LLB in Law at the University of New Brunswick.  (Dalhousie Ombuds; LinkedIn.)
