The Colorado Ombuds Group gathered for its Winter 2018 meeting on Friday, January 26, 2018 at the University of Colorado Boulder. Here's a summary provided by Liz Hill, one of the organizers:
Participants had an opportunity to discuss a variety of issues, share articles and information relevant to our Ombuds practices and engage in conversation with Valerie Simons, Director of Institutional Equity and Compliance and Title IX Coordinator at the University of Colorado Boulder. Ms. Simons graciously shared her wealth of knowledge regarding Title IX, the process for handling sexual harassment claims and offered tips to those in the group who are currently helping their organization develop policy related to sexual harassment claims. She also took time to provide a brief overview of pending federal and state legislation related to Title IX.
