Norfolk State University Names Ombuds

NSU has appointed Erick S. Cage as University Ombudsman, succeeding Clementine Cone  who opened the office in 2017. The scope of the program has been narrowed and Ombuds services are now available only to faculty and staff, and no longer students.  Cage also serves as Executive Advisor to the President and Board of Visitors for Policy and Compliance,  providing senior policy counsel on a wide range of issues impacting higher education administration and governance including compliance. The Ombuds program still ostensibly practices to IOA standards.

The official bio says:
Cage is a distinguished graduate of Virginia Tech and the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets where he earned degrees in Political Science and Leadership. He went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from the Rutgers Law School and a Masters of Law in Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution from The George Washington University. Cage is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force's Air Command and Staff College and the University of Virginia’s Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership. He brings more than a decade of public policy experience to the university.
